Summerfest programming is for children entering grades K-8th in the fall. Our activities can be adapted to include children of all disabilities, regardless of age.

Week 1 (6/27 - 7/1) Science Week -  Explore the wonders of science through experiments in geology, gravity, weather and more!

Week 2 (7/5 - 7/8) Rays to Grow - We learn about planting, indoor gardening, visit a local community garden and take a nature walk at Sherando Park.

Week 3  (7/11 - 7/15) Crafty Camper - Get crafty and explore sewing, crocheting, origami, macrame and more.  

Week 4 (7/18 - 7/22) When we Grow Up - We'll inspire young citizens to lead by working on service projects, learning sign language, and encouraging literacy with a visit to Handley Library.

Week 5 (7/25 - 7/29) Celebration of Nations - This week focuses on world culture as we match culture, food, and games from various countries.

Week 6 (8/1 - 8/5) Waterland at The YDC - A week of water play! Morning adventure at The YDC and every afternoon we'll go to the pool.

We'll be showing movies onsite in our theater on Thursdays, and swimming at Sherando Pool every Friday. Additional trips may be planned based on specific programming for each week.

​We provide a mid-morning and an afternoon snack.

Please provide lunch for your camper in a clearly labeled container.
