About The Event
Night at the YDC: In Tune is a free, interactive music therapy experience in partnership with Shenandoah University Music Therapy seniors, designed to support connection, creativity, and emotional expression for youth of all ages.
The evening will feature two age-based sessions:
Ages 11–16 (5:00–6:00 PM)
Participants will engage in a dynamic and supportive experience that uses music as a tool for self-expression and connection. Activities include an interactive drum circle focused on rhythm, communication, and teamwork, as well as guided music exploration and lyric discussions centered around themes like perseverance, identity, and emotional awareness. Participants will also create personalized “mood playlists” to support emotional regulation and self-reflection.
Ages 5–10 (6:00–7:00 PM)
Younger participants will explore music through engaging and playful activities designed to build confidence and connection.
