About The Event
Join the YDC for Little Heroes: A ReadStart Storytime & Pop-Up Art Class on Saturday, May 16 from 11AM–12PM.
This free community event will feature a special ReadStart storytime centered around I Want to Be a Firefighter paired with a themed pop-up art class designed to spark creativity, imagination, and conversation.
We’re also excited to welcome special guests Molly Maynard and Natalie Rasmussen, this year’s Miss In-Town and Miss Out of Town Honorary Fire and Rescue Chiefs from the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. Molly and Natalie represent leadership, service, and community spirit, and we’re thrilled to have them join us for this special morning.
Families can expect a story, hands-on art activities, and plenty of fun as we celebrate literacy, creativity, and community heroes together.
As an added surprise, one special attendee will win their very own copy of the book!
